i.
what do you think is the most important issue in this election?
Democracy. MPs should represent their communities and not follow the party
line dictated to by vested interests.
ii.
why did you make the decision to stand in this constituency and for this
party (as an independent)?
Because I believe 'enough is enough' of the doublespeak and spin from our
country. I am ashamed of the decision to slaughter Iraqui people in our name
simply for profit for the vested interests driving the USA.
iii.
what kind of vote are you expecting on May 5th?
The constituency is a marginal one that could go four or five ways and I
consider that I have as good a chance as any of the other candidates. It
will be close.
iv.
aside from the vote what are you hoping to get out of this campaign?
By highlighting the issues of social and environmental justice and getting
public support for them the other parties will have to 'green' up their
actions.
v.
in your view what is the greatest threat to our civil liberties at the
moment?
Corporate power vested in some very wealthy hands that have been
successful in taking control of our institutions. Too many of our citizens are
prepared to allow them to do this by accepting a culture of fear and greed.
vi.
Blair has taken us to war three times since coming to power (not including
the occasional ad hoc bombing raid) in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq. Can
war ever be justified?
NO. But I don't blame Blair or even Bush as they are both greedy spineless
selfish puppets. Our nation has got itself in this position by allowing
wealthy capitalists to take control.
vii.
There is very little left to privatise in this country, if you had your
way what would be brought into public hands?
Land should be not be owned by anyone and should be for community usage.
Public utilities, transport, schools, hospitals and police should be
publicly owned.
viii.
Some environmental campaigners have started talking about nuclear power as
a way to bring down CO2 emissions - what do you think of this?
Absolute rubbish. There has been a barrage of manoeuvring by the atomic energy
industry to try and make a phoney environmental case. What would future
generations say about the pile of waste we would be leaving them ?
ix.
Asylum and immigration will be central issues in this election. What
action on this issue would you like to see the next government push through?
Asylum seekers should be housed within communities that can offer appropriate
support with access to legal, translational, and medical facilities. They should
have the same rights as Scots to work, housing, social services, and freedom.

What question do you wish was on this list but doesn't appear?
As we begin the new millennium, one of the most important issues for mankind is
the production and consumption of food. We are now at a watershed where our food
is rapidly being taken control of by multinational agribusiness and the biotech
industry. I believe that our food and farming industry is the primary health
service and in order to preserve the future health of our people we need to
preserve the health of our land and our environment. Everything is connected in
the fragile web of life on the planet and when one part is damaged the rest is
affected. Therefore GM crops that are designed to create profits for their
patent holders
